“I noticed what appeared to be wood rot on some boards of my back porch. My termite bond insurance company’s initial reaction was I was seeing former termite damage. Fortunately, I had retained Superior Construction as my contractor to handle other needs on my property that day. Owner Robert Collins’ opinion was I had live active termites, so he pried open small sections of the wood and a few living termites became visible. The insurance company agreed termites were active. From there, Robert worked closely with the insurance company to define the extent of the damages, which were greater than anticipated and included both my house and pool house. Superior Construction presented the needed repair findings to my insurance company who then brought in an independent appraiser. The independent appraiser agreed exactly with what Superior Construction had identified both in terms of scope and cost to repair/rebuild. Later in the overall process, I was issued a check by my insurance company for the full amount of the appraisal. Needless to say, I retained Superior Construction to physically repair all damages both to my home and the pool house. Past that, they also completed other property issues I had originally suggested. In total, it has taken a few months for these issues to be handled. Mainly, because there were so many different types of repairs that needed to be handled. I highly recommend Superior Construction and Robert Collins for any building situation. In these types of actions, one needs a construction professional who knows how to handle multiple situations regarding a home. Yes, they can do specific things, but specific things fall under the whole. From this experience I would suggest you really need someone who understands houses as they do…you need overall understanding, efficiency, ability and time management.
